    Timber Theft Case Statistics  :  the beginning of 2006 cases of forest damage in the District Lebong, reaching 40 percent or about 54,000 haktare (Ha) of forest area has a whole 134,834.55 Ha.  Forest damage occurred in the area of forest reserves, protected forests and National Park Kerinci Seblat (TNKS) area of forest damage caused by the large number of "illegal logging" and pathfinder  the people who live around the forest is protected.

Citizens as a protected forest land the process of making do not have to meet the needs of daily living. The majority of them are poor. in habiting  Lebong , Population Lebong now recorded 102 thousand people, most living in poverty and rely on income from farming. On the other the process of making land in the area was very limited. Founded  new District in March 2003 and is the result of the expansion of Sub District Rejang Lebong part is a protected forest area. Lebong of status as District Conservation is expected to overcome perambahan the area of protected forest and forest conservation in the region, because akan happen "Colaboration" between the community and the government to maintenance the same preservation


from data collected statistics of successful cases illegal logging is successful in the press, it is the role of the District government Lebong who care for the environment, with a special team formed Tackling illegal logging on 9 -10 -2006 has been successfully pressing the case of timber theft and perambahan forest nearly 80%. Area District Lebong entirely recorded 192,424 ha, about 70 percent of which is a forest area that consist of protected forest and conservation, while forest TNKS reach 117,000 ha. Regent Lebong Dalhadi Umar said, although the status Lebong Conservation District as the new plan, but his side will attempt to control as closely as possible of, at least not increasing in number.
