FORESTRY FLORA AND FAUNA DISTRICT  OF LEBONG

 

Recorded in 2006 damaged forest area in the District Lebong, Bengkulu so far has reached 40 percent or about 54,000 haktare, forest damage occurred in the area of forest reserves, Protection forests and Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS), forest area was damaged due to the many the "illegal logging" and perambahan the people who lived in the vicinity of protected forests, the opening of protected forest land because they did not have work on  to meet the needs of daily living. The majority of them are poor.  Giving Lebong status as District Conservation

is expected to overcome perambahan area of protected forests and forest conservation in the region, because there will be a "collaboration" between the community and the government to maintain the same  everlasting, the program Lebong Carbon Conservation is in the form  and efforts to overcome the problems forestry  in the district lebong, conduct activities with the conservation escalation economic sector will be improved. Sustainable forest management that are often made and published is one of concern for the environment with beauty and expediently keep the forest intact. Realize that the joint forest management scheme option is not to determine the sustainable managed forests.  Orientation of forest management that focused only on the result of timber has resulted in loss of both normal broad economic and ecological. Short-term economic orientation is also cause damage to the forest ecosystem. Have on  forest damage in the flood and landslide disasters that engulf the victim lives and the material is not small. One of the effects of forest management with concepts that have been implemented, such as placement of HTI area, or area of many forest management
